Are you a top equestrian giving a clinic? Here's how to fill it.
- Have a headshot
- Have a bio
- Cross promote the clinic & entry link on YOUR social media
1. Have a Headshot.
Eye contact builds trust. It makes you likable.
Every top rider who a.) wants to make money teaching clinics or b.) wants sponsors, needs a headshot. Especially if you are struggling to fill your clinics.
Remember that time you came off that crazy young horse, broke your collarbone, and Googled the surgeon’s name?
Bet she/he had a photo up that made you feel just a little less nervous about the whole thing.
Doctors, lawyers, diplomats and realtors- they all have headshots.
If you want someone- who has never before met you -to feel comfortable in giving you money, increase the # of headshots your name pulls up when they Google your name.
“Hey- you know that charismatic eventer guy, who’s been to the Olympics like 3X, and does a course walk around Kentucky 5* each year with all the teenagers in tow? The one with the amazing dressage rider for a wife.”
“You mean the one we always see on TV sitting in the ice bath like a crazy person .”
“Yeah, that one. What color are his eyes?”- said no one, ever.
Why not? Because everyone reading this article knows what his eyes look like.
Google his name, you’ll see hundreds of photos, videos, & articles showing his face. Showing his eyes– without sunglasses, looking straight into the camera.
Have a friend with an iPhone help you out. (We guarantee- It’s better than what you have up currently! )
Put it on Facebook, Instagram, your website, send it to your clinic organizers.
2. Have a Clinician Bio
Describe why you are popular as a coach, instructor and trainer. Then back it up with all the ribbons and titles you’ve won.
5-8 lines, max.
Write it with your most recent accomplishment to start. Not what you did in kindergarden.
Post it on your website for anyone to readily grab.
- What value do you bring to your students?
- Are you engaging, patient, able to get them up the levels?
- Have you gotten a student on every US team since 1974?
- Any testimonials to share? Do you build confidence in adult amateurs and make pony clubbers laugh?
Make it easy for riders to get to know you–off a horse- and your teaching style.
Make it easy for organizers to promote you as a clinician.
3. Cross-Promote Your Clinic, Every Time
Share the STRIDER entry link on your social media for EVERY clinic you give.
The STRIDER platform is the ONLY equestrian entry platform publicly access to the world, with a reach of over 1.2 million equestrians. Every activity is published on its own URL, crawled by Google daily.
Just by being on STRIDER, your name will show up in Google search results for years. Use this to your advantage!
➟Use Facebook Business suite to schedule posts & remind your followers all the way up to closing date.
➟From your page, share to top FB equestrian groups
➟ In each post, give riders the basic who/what/where info they need to attend.
This does three things:
- It permanently boosts your personal brand visibility. It tells riders & organizers, long after the clinic is over, that you are a popular and experienced equestrian with influence.
- It gives you a chance to tag & show your sponsors some love across social media.
- It fills your clinics 3x faster.
“How does it fill my clinics faster?“
NewsFlash: The people who follow you on social media already know and LIKE you.
The venue hosting your clinic has a social media following that barely knows you.
Your existing followers are statistically more likely to:
a.) take a clinic with you or;
b.) share the info with a friend nearby and encourage them to take a clinic with you.
Use the free visibility! Get the word out! You’ll make money!
