STRIDER™ Supports Venues During COVID-19 Crisis

Dear STRIDER™ Community,

We know this is a difficult time and want to support you.  If you are concerned about the COVID-19 contagion risk of accepting paper checks, or you are just too overwhelmed to process paper right now, we’re committed to helping you find a solution.

From today thru May 31, you can use our popular StriderPay™ product to securely collect payment online for services like board, socially distant lessons, and shipping, at no cost to you.

Bottom Line: These are exceptional times. If you can use our StriderPay™ product to quickly and safely collect client payments, please do so.

To further support those impacted by COVID-19 pandemic,  STRIDER™ will be donating 30% of all platform processing fees collected during this time to No Kid Hungry. As a national nonprofit recently partnered with Citibank, No Kid Hungry is working around the clock to feed hungry kids impacted by the recent school closures.

Next Steps:

  1. Check that you are a qualified equestrian service provider eligible to use StriderPay™ to collect digital funds. (If you are already an STRIDER™ Member, you are.)
  2.  Log-in to your Member account.
  3. Use our Custom Announcement Form to post your service(s). See example here.
    • Publish with “SERVICES | Your Facility/Business Name” in the activity title field. That will alert our team it is not meant to be an activity posting.
    • Use an activity end date of May 31, 2020

Once posted, send the link to clients.  They can select the services they need and use a credit card to securely pay you online-at zero merchant cost to you.

Similar to venues use the STRIDER™ platform to accept payment for a horse show entry, you’ll get the full amount in your PayPal account.  It’s just like clients wrote you a check.

Alternative E-Payment Options

You can invoice your clients directly through your PayPal dashboard, Intuit Quickbooks,  or collect funds via Venmo

  • PayPal will subtract 2.9% +.$.30 from each payment- make sure to add it to the invoice.
  • Intuit Quickbooks is excellent but the software can take a bit of time to get comfortable with.  It also costs $25/month.
  • Venmo has no fees, however its lack of formality may cause confusion for your long term financial records. It is best used for one-off payments like a single lesson.

Please feel free to reach out to our team if you have questions or concerns.  We’re in this together.

#StrideForward,

Team STRIDER™
