We Don’t Always Have to Reinvent the Wheel: Content Creation for Equestrians with KTB Creative Group

Hello everyone, and happy July!

This month we are going to talk about content creation. That’s right, we’ve made it to the fun part!

If I suggest that you should post multiple times per week, do you get overwhelmed? That’s seven days PER week that you have to run your business, PLUS think of something “authentic” to share on the internet. Phew.

Sometimes a detailed, informative post can be the straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak. It’s just too much, you don’t have time for it, you don’t have the energy to invest in it.

When you get to this point, you can do one of two things.

1. You can hire an outside agency or add a social media person to your team…basically, outsource your social media.

2. You can recycle themes and ideas on a regular basis, to help you get a quality post with limited time and effort added.

AT KTB Creative,  we have our clients throughout the industry who prefer to have outsource their social media  I’m a sucker for themes, and I like to have between 3-4 themes per week.

Each quarter, I come up with 5-6 total themes unique to each of my clients.  This lets me produce content that adds value, but also enables me to  switch in and out topics if one starts to get boring.

Themes can be whatever you’d like. Some of my favorites include training tips, throw backs, and day in the life experiences. You don’t need to come up with a new theme Every. Single. Week.

People appreciate consistency, and your brain does, too!

So, where do I put all of this content, and how do I make it even easier to decide what to post?

I used the overarching theme ideas to plan each week. Some like to do monthly or bi-weekly, but to me that is incredibly daunting, and not really social media.

A major appeal of social media is that it highlights what is happening in the moment, and if you’re four weeks behind with all of your updates (especially in the horse world) you might as well not bother. That’s not to say you can’t create campaigns that are planned out ahead of time, but for your organic, day to day, authentic content, stick to the week of if you can!

What to Try

The team at @striderworld does a weekly #TipTuesday post (which I love and also utilize frequently with my clients). That’s a great example of an easy theme that you can build off of each week!
