Set Up In Minutes

Start using StriderPay today and start accepting secure payments directly from riders, protected from processing fees!

To unlock the benefits of StriderPay, you need:

  • a StriderBasic(free- basic access) or StriderGold (paid-full access) account
  • a PayPal Business account.

Our onboarding process is quick, free, and gets you ready to accept payments in no time.

Riders have the flexibility to pay you with their credit/debit card, Venmo, or PayPal accounts.   Regardless of the payment method your riders choose, the funds will be securely and directly deposited, in real time,  into the account of your choice.

We understand that equestrian events often operate on tight margins. That’s why we’ve built a digital services model designed for accounting transparency and community sustainability. As a PayPal Global Partner, StriderPay uses top-tier technology to ensure secure financial transactions and protect your data.

No monthly fee, no after-show invoices, no hassles, no stress.

There’s no monthly fee to use StriderPay, and no surprise post-show invoices.

We add a modest, estimated amount to each rider’s checkout to proactively cover your costs in secure payment processing, data protection, and unlimited cloud storage—so you’re never stuck paying out of pocket.

This model allows you to offer riders a secure, professional checkout experience while keeping your event operations organized, predictable, and sustainable.

What Does the Rider See?

To see exactly how it works, start entering any activity on the platform. You’ll experience the checkout exactly as a rider does.

Keep The Sport Viable For the Future

Digital payment fees are not a fixed % rate – please do not advertise them to your riders as such.  All secure payment procecssors—Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, and credit or debit cards—will charge you a combination of a percentage plus a fixed per-transaction fee.

Due to the fixed fee component- which we have no control over- smaller transactions can sometimes give riders the impression of a higher fee percentage, since the fixed amount appears to be large relevant to the total cost. However, this is a natural part of payment processing, and is not a cause for alarm.

Manually processing off-line payments can create additional labor costs to show management of $35-$60 per entry, making digital payments much more sustainable for the wider community.

You do. We don’t hold your funds. Payment is deposited directly into your account in real-time as the rider completes payment on STRIDER.

 Here’s “How To Issue Refunds“.

Yes, if you want to. It’s available on our paid StriderGold level.

But you’ll probably get more entries with online payment.
(We’ve stopped using VHS tapes, too!)

Note:  To ensure fairness, we encourage organizers to set a minimum $25 processing fee for the extra labor time involved in processing checks. Learn more here

Who Handles Reporting to the IRS?
STRIDER does not collect or remit taxes for members. You’ll need to include any applicable taxes in your entry fees, such as state sales or e-marketplace taxes.

Taxes
You are responsible for the collection and remittance of all taxes associated with funds processed through STRIDER.

PayPal will issue tax forms for all accounts that receive over $20,000 in a calendar year.

In order to comply with financial security and IRS reporting requirements, we require each organizer to be carefully vetted, and banking information must be confirmed in PayPal before you can use our StriderPay service.

To learn more, please review our Payment Processing Agreement.

Checking On Rates

We proactively assume that you’ll be charged the standard industry processing rate by PayPal.

Our system is designed to do the math and conveniently collect enough from the rider to cover your digital processing fees.

However, if you’ve negotiated a lower rate or are a non-profit, the difference is yours to keep!

You can find your specific PayPal processing rates inside your account [here].

How Will Our Treasurer Know the Payment Is for  Strider Activity?

STRIDER’s integration with PayPal makes accounting easy for every transaction, no matter what payment method the rider chooses at checkout (Venmo, credit/debit card, or PayPal).

At any time, you can review each payment’s details directly in your PayPal account. Simply click on a transaction to view all related information, including the exact Strider event or activity name. This ensures your treasurer/accountant can easily identify the source and purpose of each payment.

Example: When you click on a transaction, you’ll see the Strider activity name clearly listed next to the payment details—whether it’s for a clinic, show, or event. No more wondering, “What does this emoji for a Venmo payment mean?” or “Why did Laura send me $50?”

Can we set up a PayPal account just for STRIDER?

Yes! PayPal allows you to have multiple accounts under the same EIN (Employer Identification Number). PayPal will automatically consolidate all accounting and IRS forms under the same EIN number, simplifying your tax and financial reporting.

This means you can create a separate PayPal business account specifically for your StriderPay transactions without affecting your other PayPal accounts.

TIP: If you’re part of a larger organization or non-profit, be sure to use the parent organization’s legal name, not your branch, local “Doing Business As” name or chapter’s name, when setting up the PayPal account. The EIN must match the organization’s legal name to make StriderPay approval a smooth process.
